    2019 Macmillan Coffee Morning

On 27th September, St Therese’ Class hosted the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning. Macmillan is a charity that is very close to the heart of the school.

Macmillan understands how cancer can affect people’s whole lives – health, money, family, job; everything. After more than 100 years of caring, they understand that the most important thing is to treat people as individuals, not patients, so it is important that we support them as often as we can.

Macmillan takes the time to understand the support people need to live their lives as fully as they can. From the moment of diagnosis and whenever they are most needed, they are there to help people find their best way through. Their help is totally focused on each individual person, so everyone receives the support that’s best for them. As a school by raising money, we can help them to achieve that.

Our Coffee Morning was an amazing morning, filled with lots of laughter, fun and cakes! The Year 6 children put so much effort into baking, buying and bringing cakes. They worked hard to decorate the hall to make the event really special. As a school, we cannot say how much we appreciate all your hard work in supporting this event. Especially the amount of parents who baked and bought cakes to donate and those that joined us for the coffee morning and came to the bake sale after school. As a parent body, you outshone yourselves with the array of cakes baked and donated: everything from Bara Brith’s to Vegan coconut and Passion fruit cakes to Gluten free cakes.

    THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH.

The event was well supported by parents, governors and friends of the school. Father Philip was the first to join us and was closely followed by members of the parish. The atmosphere was lovely and the children enjoyed hosting you all. The children were all very keen to serve the teas and coffees and `encourage` all the attendees to donate. The children and staff enjoyed the jovial atmosphere and appreciated the chance to spend time with each other and just talk.

To date: The amazing news is that we raised an almighty £370

And thanks to you all this total, at the time of writing, is still rising. Our Lady & St. Oswald’s Catholic Primary School has done it again. You are all amazing.

    Thank You

  • Sports Day 2019

    Thu 11 Jul 2019

Thank you to all the parents, family and friends that came along to support the children on Sports Day. All photographs taken have now been uploaded on to the school website and can be located in the Gallery section.

Next year the plan is for the children to wear coloured T-shirt's to represent their house colour. The school house will be further promoted next year as we are introducing house points for recognition for good behaviour, effort and achievement.  More information about this can be accessed via the behaviour policy updated June 2019 on the school website, or additionally a hard copy is available from the school office.

A big thank you and well done to our Year 6 Sports Leaders that support superbly on Sports Day.
