Gospel Values
There are 8 values, based on the Beatitudes in Matthew's Gospel and 4 Virtues. They are explored and practised every day in school, in order for every child and adult to be the best person they can be, following the teachings of Jesus.
Humility - seeing life as a gift
Compassion - having empathy
Kindness - gentleness
Justice - working for a fairer world
Forgiveness - reconciling with self and others
Integrity - do what you say
Peace - committed to peace making and non-violence
Courage - standing up for the truth
The children have demonstrated huge awareness of the Gospel Values and these can be witnessed in all walks of school life. As part of developing their journey in Faith more deeply, we have begun looking at virtues and how to become a better Christian, intrinsically and extrinsically.
- Prudence - forward thinking and developing positive habits (Linked to Green Action Plan)
- Temperance - showing honesty, compassion and kindness (Linked to school behaviour policy)
- Fortitude - persevering when things get tough. (Promoting Resilience and supporting others)
- Justice - seeking fairness in a good and just way. (Standing up for what is right and promoting pupil voice)
Gospel values are things which we display, virtues are what we develop spiritually.
In addition, we also hold a Monthly Value Assembly on a Thursday where we promote a Value and recognise and appreciate this Value in action with others.
