Welcome to St. Bernadette's Class.
St Bernadette's is a mixed Reception and Year One Class, Mrs Bateman is the Class Teacher and we are very lucky to have Mrs Williams & Miss Passant as our Teaching Assistants.
A huge welcome all of our new children and families. As a staff we all understand how exciting but also worrying this time can be, especially this year. So if you have any concerns at all (no-matter how small) then please feel free to email me on class email firstname.lastname@example.org (as we won't be using home school books).
Also we can't wait to see how much the Year One children have grown and look forward to hearing all of your news!
Tapestry - We will be continuing to use online Tapestry profiles for all Reception and Year 1 children. This will enable parents to see what their children are doing at school and also share milestones and photos from home.
I will transfer the profiles of those children who attended Little Acorns to continue on the same profile and set up new accounts for the children coming from other settings in the next couple of weeks.
Outdoor Learning/ Nature School - We are hoping to make the most of our outdoor learning area and therefore it important that the children bring a waterproof coat everyday.
We will also be enjoying nature and outdoor activities including Forest School and Gardening, if children could please leave a carrier bag with a waterproof coat and wellies (all named) on their peg this would be a great help.
P.E - P.E will take place each Monday and Wednesday. On Monday the children will need to bring their PE kits in their bags to change into (just black shorts and a white t-shirt as this will be an indoor session). On Wednesdays the children come to school in their PE kit, school jumper and trainers they will remain in these all day. They can also wear black tracksuit bottoms/leggings as this will usually be an outdoor session (depending on weather).
Please ensure that your child has a labelled water bottle each day and that all uniform and PE kit has their name on it, it can get very tricky with 30 of everything (and 60 socks and shoes)!
We are looking forward to an enjoyable year working with the children and their families.
