  • Our Governors

    Serving our school community

Working together to help every child live life to the full.

“I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly.”
    John 10:10

Our governors give their time, experience and care to support Our Lady & St Oswald’s. Working with the Headteacher and Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Multi Academy Trust, they help keep our Catholic mission at the heart of school life.

Through support, thoughtful questions and constructive challenge, our Local Governing Body helps ensure that every child is safe, included and supported to flourish.

    What our governors do

Governors provide strategic oversight within the responsibilities delegated by the Trust. Their work includes:

    • Protecting and promoting our Catholic mission, vision and Gospel values.
    • Supporting and challenging school leaders to provide a high-quality education for every child.
    • Monitoring safeguarding, attendance, behaviour, wellbeing and inclusion.
    • Keeping the needs of disadvantaged pupils and children with special educational needs and disabilities central to their work.
    • Reviewing school improvement priorities and the responsible use of resources.
    • Listening to the experiences of children, families and staff.

The Headteacher and staff lead the school day to day. Governors meet leaders, review evidence and      visit school to understand what is working well and where further improvement is needed.
