Religious Education-Long Term Plan

Religious Education at Our Lady's and St Oswald's is a core subject and the teaching of the subject is centred around the Diocesan scheme 'The Way, the truth and the Life'. Children from Reception through to Year 6 have 2 lessons of Religious Education each week. Children learn about Jesus's teachings, Bible stories and the Sacraments through group work, whole class teaching, drama, music and media. The children are expected to transfer their Literacy skills into their RE work and are encouraged to present their written work carefully and to take pride in their work.

Religious Education in a Catholic school is not inspected by Ofsted. We are inspected by the Diocese. Our last inspection was 'Outstanding' June 2017.

Please find a link to the Religious Education Policy which was reviewed in May 2020 by the R.E, standards and curriculum committee. It will be ratified by the full board of Governors in June 2020.
