Curriculum

At Our Lady and St. Oswald’s, we believe that every child is unique and special. We are a school that holds Christ at our centre; a caring school that challenges and motivates all to reach their potential. We are a school that value all, with empathy and support; we create a safe environment where lifelong learners and citizens of the future are created; who model respect, honesty and understanding. Our Curriculum is designed to immerse children in the essential knowledge and skills to prepare them for their future success. We plan our curriculum to focus on developing key concepts and making important connections in our learning journey, we want our children to ‘know more and remember more’ and build on their ‘Cultural Capital’.

Please also view the class pages for current and on-going curriculum and class updates. Class based staff use this page to keep parents and carers up to date with class based curriculum and feature celebrations in learning. Please take a look by clicking here.

At Our Lady & St. Oswald's Catholic Primary School all teachers are responsible for providing an inclusive curriculum that is differentiated for those with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND). We have high expectations for all pupils and are committed to ensuring our curriculum complies with the Equality Act 2010 and the Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014.

Our inclusion statement emphasises the importance of providing an inclusive learning environment for all pupils including those with SEND. Additional information on this can be found in our Special Education Needs Information Report and Equalities Policy & Objectives Plan.
